Walk for Life West Coast!

In 2005, 7,500 marched . . .

In 2006, 15,000 marched . . .

In 2007, 20,000 people marched!

What a great day!!

The day began with moving and inspiring speeches.

That's SS. Peter & Paul's own Father John and Father Armand flanking Bishop John Wester on the left,
and you can just see the top of Father Jack's head, next to the Knight of Columbus with the "Defend Life" sign.
That's 256 years of Salesians!

We will miss Bishop Wester as he moves to lead the Diocese Salt Lake City,
but we still have Bishop Ignatius Wang (in the red beret at far left)!

That's Archbishop George front and center,
and the good Reverend Clenard Childress to his right.
Reverend Childress has been with us since the very first "Walk for Life West Coast" in 2005.

20,000 march in peaceful, loving witness to life.
Look at all our great young people!

And God Bless the sterling example of our older folks!
It's may be harder for them to march, but do they let that stop them?

God Bless all Fathers & Mothers!

The good Dominicans, fighting the good fight as usual.
St. Dominic himself was surely with us in spirit!

And the Sisters were there, too!

As always, people of all ethnicities were out in force for life!

There were too many groups to count!
Many of the "Singles for Christ" & "Couples for Christ" came to all-night Adoration for Life
at Saints Peter and Paul on January 19.

What would a Walk for Life be without counter-protesters trying to shut us down?
But there were only about 100 to 200 this year. They believe in freedom of speech--for themselves.
But they don't seem to be troubling our good brother with the guitar and his friend.

Anyway, the great SFPD quickly restored order.

Look at the size of the crowd at Justin Herman Plaza!

. . . and at Pier 39!

. . .and heading up Polk Street!

The Walk for Life ended at the Marina Green
with food, fun, fellowship, and music!

God Bless and thanks to the organizers and volunteers, and to all who marched and prayed!
